Resisting apocalypticism

Thanks to Lee Quinby who has highlighted  a chapter in her book that  should be included in the running bibliography on heterotopia. The chapter in Anti-Apocalypse, Exercises in Genealogical Criticism (1994) investigates home as a heterotopian site. In Lee’s words:

‘Resistance on the Home Front: Re(con)figuring Home Space as a Practice of Freedom” is the ‘culminating chapter in the book, which draws on Foucault throughout to analyse and resist forms of apocalypticism deeply enmeshed in western culture’.
